Today is our last day at sea. The journey took us across the Drake Passage (once again Drake Lake with waves of only about 4 meters) back to the coast of Argentina. We are driving along the coast to the Strait of Magellan. We will then take the Strait of Magellan to Punta Arenas, where we will leave the ship. From there, our journey continues by rental car to the heart of Patagonia, Torres del Paine National Park.
On the return journey, we are again accompanied by albatrosses and today I managed to take some good shots.
An unforgettable (part) journey comes to an end. With Antarctica, we have seen a nature that cannot be found anywhere else in the world. This is how I imagine the Ice Age. The tranquility that radiates from this part of the world is unique. No airplanes in the sky, no cars in sight, and no crowds of people struggling from right to left. You won't even find this in the peaks of the Alps. We are overjoyed to have had this experience.
From tomorrow, our journey will continue. We still have a good 3 weeks of vacation ahead of us and I will continue to report on our impressions and experiences.
