Today's stage was challenging, but the landscape and the view were magnificent. It was a total of 1800 meters of altitude from the Plitvice Lakes to the Adriatic coast in Prizna and then by ferry to the island of Pag. Just after the last pass, in the Paklenica National Park, it was so windy that extra caution was required when descending to Karlobag. A Belgian couple had explained to me that shortly before, the main coastal road (Jadranska Magistrala) was still closed due to the wind, even for cars. To catch the ferry to Pag, I had to fight strong headwinds from Karlobag to Prizna. On the ferry, I was approached by Christian, who had been traveling in his fancy bus in America for a few months. We decided to head to a beach spot together in the north of the island. In the evening, after the long journey, we had some beer and snacks in his bus.
