Bali Part 2

Nai-publish: 01.07.2019

Early in the morning, I took a taxi to Pasangbai, a port located on the east side of the island.

As a Swiss, I was naturally early and didn't expect 'Indonesian time'. So my 9am boat left the harbor at 10am.😅 In the meantime, I was taken care of by a nice coffee shop owner.

The Gili Islands are small islands located far east of Bali and already belong to Lombok. I decided to spend 2-3 days on the smallest of the three islands, Gili Air.

Arriving there, all the hustle and bustle of Bali is quickly forgotten. You can peacefully spend your time snorkeling, eating, doing yoga, or whatever else you like on the beautiful beach of this island.

I had a little culture shock when all the lights went out on the first evening and the island went dark due to a blackout. But going to bed early doesn't hurt, right? 😉

Unfortunately, I haven't been able to successfully transfer the underwater photos from my snorkeling trip to my phone yet. I will try to upload them as soon as possible.

After snorkeling, together with Enida, a fellow traveler, I went to the other side of the island where we participated in a beach clean-up. For that, we were pleasantly surprised with a post-work drink and a spontaneous sunset boat ride. 😍

The next morning, I spent half of my time worrying whether my speedboat would really take me back to the mainland.

We then went straight to Ubud, where I was received by Umar. We explored the city, indulged in culinary delights, and of course, we had to attend an acroyoga class. :)

The journey back home was characterized by rice fields that we explored, and we made it back to Canggu just in time for the sunset, where we could toast with a post-work drink.

The last few days in Bali were filled with delicious food, great weather, and an acroyoga jam in a yoga studio right by the sea. 😍

Despite a small misunderstanding, I made it to the airport on time and looked forward to the next few days in Malaysia.
