Hallo meine Lieben, das hört sich sooo toll an. Genießt die ital. Gastfreundschaft! Habt ganz viel Freude. ที่ตีพิมพ์: 05.06.2017
Sorry that it took so long, but we had some issues with the internet 💻. But now we can finally continue.
After breakfast, we pack our things and drive through the countryside roads of the Chianti area. Of course, we can't resist visiting one of the many wineries and participating in a short wine tasting. After finding the perfect wine for myself, I stop the wine tasting since I still have to drive!
With a few bottles of wine in our luggage, we continue towards Florence where we have a meeting with Francesca and Duccio at 3:00 pm. They are acquaintances from Tascha's childhood. They take us to a cemetery at the other end of Florence where Francesca's father Rudolfo is buried. This was Tascha's wish since we weren't able to accept his invitations during his lifetime and we couldn't attend his funeral due to the long distance.
Afterwards, we were invited by the two of them for dinner at their home 🏡. So off to Empoli, which means driving through Florence completely, now during rush hour. If you want to know what that's like, it's simple: Imagine the Hanauer Landstraße during rush hour, a traffic jam with twice as much traffic caused by reckless drivers and a ridiculous amount of completely disturbed scooter riders, and all that with a 7.5-meter-long motorhome. This journey cost me more than 5 minutes of my life.
When we arrived and Francesca's brother Riccardo arrived, a delicious dinner began, filled with various culinary local specialties. 😋
Our pitch for the night was right in front of their house. 🏡
A long day that ended with a good bottle of wine 🍷.
Our plan to continue driving the next day was promptly thrown over by Italian hospitality.
You will find out what happens next tomorrow.........
