Unfortunately, in the morning of July 23, 2017 (Sunday), it is no longer possible to walk long distances. The two small blisters on the balls of my feet, which were treated with plasters the day before, have gotten significantly larger. I feel like I'm walking on eggshells. That's why I decide to take a train for a part of the way and settle down at Lake Tisza for a few days. Shortly after nine, after saying goodbye to the Petri disciples in Isaszeg and with Rango, I go to the local train station. With the help of my translation app, I can organize suitable tickets, and the nice lady on the other side of the counter even writes down in detail where I have to change trains. The train arrives shortly after ten, and three and a half hours later, we get off at Tiszafüred according to schedule. From the train station, we head towards the center and take a lunch break in a small park. To have a look at possible fishing spots, I check in at the nearest campsite for now. As it turns out, the campsite includes a swimming pool with a sauna and thermal water. After setting up the tent, we first go for a swim to cool off and then end the day at the warm thermal bath.
Monday starts with a late breakfast and some leisure time in the morning. After lunch, I take a longer walk along the banks of Lake Tisza with Dicken to scout possible fishing spots. Fishing seems to be a popular sport in Hungary, and many spots are already occupied. However, I managed to find two or three promising locations.
In the end, because of the sauna and thermal area, I didn't go fishing in the next few days. Apart from trips to the surrounding area and for shopping, I healed my blisters in the warm water. Besides the nearby lake and plenty of fruit on the roadside (since Budapest, I have been meeting my vitamin needs through my own harvest), the place has little to offer and gives a cozy but rather sleepy impression.
