05. - 06.07.2016 Drive South

ที่ตีพิมพ์: 09.07.2016

On Tuesday evening, we started our drive south. As a stopover with accommodation, we chose a nice hotel in Pfaffenhofen, one hour before Munich. The next morning, on Wednesday, July 6th, we continued towards Italy. For the way through Austria, we decided against the Brenner motorway and opted for the old Brenner Pass, which was the main transfer route between Italy and Germany until the 1970s. A good decision, although our arrival in Bergamo was delayed due to the (much) longer travel time. This means driving serpentine roads instead of a highway and a European bridge. A stopover at the highest point of the pass was really good for us. Thin clean air above the tree line at about 2,200 meters altitude. Remaining snow on the peaks on the horizon.
