Day 1 Arrival to Koh Phangan

Day 1 - December 15th/16th, 2023: Arrival from Frankfurt to Bangkok

Departure from Frankfurt punctually at 1:45 p.m. (CET). After 10 hours and 40 minutes of flight and over 10,000 kilometers of flight, I finally landed in Bangkok with my dear friend Chris, it is early in the morning, 6:40 a.m. Thai time. Overnighted and initially overwhelmed by the impressions of how big an airport can be, we continued our flight to Koh Samui. There’s enough time to find your way around the large airport and rest while you wait. After about 4 hours we finally took the plane to Koh Samui. After 1.5 hours we finally landed at Koh Samui Airport, if you can even call it an airport :). It is small, manageable and beautiful. It doesn't look like an airport at all! There are flowers everywhere and blooming all around, no boundaries separating the runway from us. I am overwhelmed by the impressions. And then we took a taxi to the pier, where we took the 45-minute ferry to Koh Phangan at 4:30 p.m. and finally arrived late in the evening. I can't believe where I am now. It's a beautiful island on the other side of the world. A feeling that I can't describe so easily and that isn't easy to put into words.
