3 days in Paris in January

Paris is wonderful. Whether it's the first, second, or third time, you always discover something new, a new café, a new street.

Even now in early January, Paris is wonderfully magical.

On our first day, after a 6-hour drive, we went directly to the Sacré-Cœur de Montmartre. From there, you have a wonderful view of the whole city, which you can also enjoy at night. A must from there is definitely a walk into the artist district of Montmartre, where talented artists exhibit their paintings and also draw portraits of the numerous passers-by on request. In the late afternoon, we walked from our apartment towards the Eiffel Tower. A walk along the Seine during sunset is definitely recommended.

The second day started with a typical French breakfast (baguette, brioche, and croissants). We were on foot all day again, but we used the metro in the end. We walked along the Champs-Élysées to the Arc de Triomphe, visited the Grand and Petit Palais. For refreshment along the way, you can find a small, sweet, and also expensive café on every corner where you can enjoy a croissant and a coffee. A absolute must is of course the Louvre museum with thousands of artworks. In the evening, we were at Notre-Dame, where a church service was taking place. If you have the luck to witness this, it is definitely worth taking the time to stay for the service.

On the third day, we left the apartment early and headed to the Palace of Versailles, where you can visit the chambers of the former Sun King. That is definitely worth a visit. Unfortunately, due to the weather conditions, the gardens were very muddy, but still worth a visit.
