The Roman Baths ... immerse yourself in history again. I was here in 2014!
During the time of the Roman Empire, the Romans built baths pretty much wherever they found hot springs. It's understandable, right? Imagine a time without electricity or flushing toilets.
What makes Bath special is that the baths here are the largest ever discovered and are still well-preserved. The spring here still provides over 1,000,000 liters of hot water DAILY. It was used for bathing as well as heating the baths and the nearby church. Unbelievable, right? The stones became so hot that you could even fry eggs on them (which some tourists in their relentless intelligence actually tried). It's funny to see raw eggs lying around in a bath like that.
The courtyard and the sanctuary around the baths were adorned with impressive statues and a gilded statue of Minerva.
