Unfortunately, our snorkeling tour has been postponed. This makes me a bit worried as we won't have much time to go to the Whitsundays. We can go snorkeling on Monday - but then we have to be in Airlie Beach for sailing on Tuesday evening. We decide to go ahead with this plan, even though it means we will have a lot of time in Townsville now!
🤔
We consider combining this with a trip to Magnetic Island and decide to book a hotel there for one night, despite the price. It somehow benefits all of us! We managed to get the last available room on the entire island for the next day! The camper van can be left at the ferry.
We are all excited and happily head out to find a hairdresser for Daniel.
Finally, we have a barbecue on the beach - there is a great seawater swimming pool here again, as the sea cannot be used a lot during the summer. We spend the evening at the campsite swimming in the cold pool, cooking, and watching a movie!
To add to my summary from a few days ago: I don't need luxury or comfort, I just need space! If I were to travel with a camper again, I would definitely choose a bigger one. It also bothers me a lot that there is no proper storage space. I am constantly tidying up. And everyone has to get out every time. I can imagine enjoying the atmosphere of a campsite in a larger group, but not as a mother alone with the kids. Besides the feeling of having space, it is nice to have the opportunity to retreat from time to time, I need that to stay in a good mood. But I really wanted to go camping, and now I have done it - check it off the list, done!
