Here you can see that everything is still under construction since the earthquake in 2011. Large sections of the city center are blocked off as houses are being renovated, demolished, or it is still undecided how the structure of these buildings is. The old cathedral is a good example of this. However, there is, for example, the nostalgic tramline that has been revived. Or the ReStart Mall, consisting of containers, where shops sell their goods. There are no other shops in the city center.
I took a boat on the small river with a pontoonist. The pontoonist was a young student, and he told me that since the earthquake, the sense of community has become much stronger and people look out for each other. This boat ride was very relaxing and I enjoyed it very much.
Two young couples invited me for a drink and then we went dancing. In a pub with live music. It was a great evening.
