Tokerau Beach at Karikari Peninsula
Today, we make one last stop before reaching Cape Reinga and decide to spend the night at Spirits Bay campsite.
After a cozy coffee, we explore the beach: collecting seashells, climbing a small mountain, and visiting the wild horses grazing there. Additionally, we meet a local New Zealander of the same age who is also on a camping trip. We had interesting conversations and took away some valuable insights.
Later, we played a few rounds of cards. Until then, it was a really nice encounter, but as the evening progressed, we started to feel a bit pressured. Another camper arrived and both of them sat in front of our car the entire evening. They brought their chairs and ate and drank near us, even though we made it clear that we didn't want them there. However, we didn't let them ruin our super delicious dinner, as we had burgers tonight. You can't imagine how tasty they were! Feeling completely satisfied, we walk to the beach in the evening, with a beer in hand, and end the day with good conversations.
