Today Vivaldi weather is announced again, but that doesn't detract from the beauty of this island. I'm hopelessly in love with the country and its people.
We are driving the Ring of Kerry, the coastal road and the most beautiful part of the wild atlantic way. Wonderfully beautiful landscape, the ocean, small colorful villages, and nice people everywhere. But the regulation that buses are only allowed to drive this road clockwise is understandable, two buses would never be able to pass each other here.
The name Emerald Isle is truly justified.
Sir Charles Spencer Chaplin (Charlie Chaplin) lived here after he was no longer allowed to return to the States.
Visiting a sheepdog farm was super exciting and impressive. That was really interesting. The 4-year-old Australian Shepard Joe impressively demonstrated what such dogs are capable of. There are only 4 commands: go/left/right/come back. The training starts at 6 months, only playfully with the dog's instinct. From 1 year on, he learns for 2 years until he is ready for duty. One dog replaces 10 people.
Too bad we don't have pubs like this. They are also busy at lunchtime. People sit together, watch TV, listen to music, and it was really nice to have a sandwich and a drink in between. But they are almost dark inside, you get used to it.
Today our guide also received some complaints about the food (mashed potatoes, carrots, chicken). And lo and behold, tonight there was rice. Just dry rice, but everyone was satisfied.
The hotel is located in the middle of Mallow, not quite new and a bit quaint, and from the sound of it, I seem to be living above the bar or something. But I have a big room again. We ended the day with six of us in the roof top bar and I'm sure everyone will sleep well. We'll move one last time tomorrow, in case I can close the chaotic suitcase with all the mess again.
