Highlight of the day: For the first time, I met a hiker on the Camino de Santiago, also equipped with a backpack.
She started in Lausanne and plans to arrive in Santiago di Compostela in 4 months. Quite an impressive achievement. Whether she has the determination for it remains to be seen. Caroline wrote yesterday: Doing is like wanting, but way more intense. She's absolutely right!
Just as it ended yesterday, it started again today for a few kilometers: walking on the comfortable sidewalk on Route de Lausanne. Noisy! Monotonous! Tedious! But clearly the fastest and shortest way.
But when I had the opportunity to leave the road, I gladly took the extra kilometers.
There was also more to see and the photos instantly became more colorful. I found a Migros supermarket in Nyon right along the way, where I could stock up on the essentials.
Nyon seems to be a beautiful city in general. There is a lot of construction and renovation going on, I noticed that yesterday too. Good thing there are sidewalks, so the construction workers always have enough parking spaces. 😡
Later, Komoot led me into and through the vineyards. From that elevated point, you have a beautiful view of the mountains and the lake. I know nothing about wine. For me, there are only 2 types of wine: the one I like and the one I don't like. Yes, I have to admit, I'm an absolute philistine, but I'm also not interested in it.
My destination today was Rolle. It took a while, and it was once again a fairly long stage. I probably wouldn't have been able to go much further today.
The weather was wonderful again today, and the temperatures were ideal. I wouldn't mind if it stayed like this a bit longer. However, the weather forecasters are predicting heavy rain on Thursday and Friday.
