Natural beauties

A walk on the beach always has a calming effect on me. You are exposed to the rugged nature and can admire its unmasked beauties.

The North Beach in Göhren is not only designed for bathers. If you continue walking towards Hövt, you will encounter unique natural motifs.

However, you can also see how much the natural beauties are threatened here. The cliff coast at the North Beach is constantly eroding and trees are being uprooted. No one knows how long the beach will remain there.

As every year, I looked for and found some Hühnergötter, a stone with a naturally formed hole. According to folklore, a Hühnergott is supposed to protect against evil spirits. So the stones were actually hung up in the chicken coop to protect the animals from harm. If you give a found Hühnergott as a gift, it is said to bring luck to the recipient. BUT: The hole must have occurred naturally!
