I made a stop in Christchurch at the Canterbury Museum and the International Antarctic Centre Museum. Christchurch serves as an international gateway to Antarctica. Most flights and ships to Antarctica depart from here. Additionally, the Americans have their largest outpost for Antarctic research here.
Many corners are still destroyed and demolished. However, the people welcome you with open arms and are grateful for everything.
The International Antarctic Centre Museum was really worth seeing. There was even a snowstorm simulator that simulated a snowstorm with wind speeds of up to 40km/h.
