Day 47: Fraser Island Tour II

E hatisitsoe: 11.10.2017

Today we start our drive at 7.30 am. The destination of the day is located in the north of the island, which can be reached via a long beach. Sand highway. This is an experience in itself. The journey takes a while as we have to drive in smooth sand during the upcoming tide. But it's worth it. Bathing in the natural, foaming Champagne Pool and the view from Indian Hill are fantastic. From here we can see giant turtles, stingrays, and dolphins passing by.

On the way back, we stop at the 100-year-old SS Maheno wreck and Eli Creek, a freshwater creek that flows into the ocean and flushes tourists along the way. Our tour guide assures us that the water here can be drunk from the source. It is very clear and pleasantly cool.

We also spend our second and last evening in a sociable atmosphere with our fellow travelers. It's a pity that we have to say goodbye already.

We leave the amazing island with the last ferry.
