Hello friends,
today we left the campsite relatively late, at 11 o'clock, and drove to the northernmost point in Australia, Cape Byron.
At Cape Byron, there is a lighthouse that is over 100 years old and very well preserved. Thanks to volunteers, you can learn a lot about the history of the lighthouse and go up to the top with a guided tour. From the top, we could enjoy a beautiful view and observe a whole school of dolphins.🤩 After that, we walked through the nearby park and came to a beach.
Back at the lighthouse, we refreshed ourselves with a delicious strawberry milkshake 🥤 and then continued driving along the coast.
On the way, we stopped at ALDI to buy some things before going to the campsite. When we arrived there, we were disappointed to find out that the campsite was closed due to malfunctioning sanitary facilities. So, we had to keep driving and find a new campsite. On the way there, we passed the first burned forests. 🙄
When we arrived at the new campsite, we, but especially me, unfortunately didn't feel completely safe. We were in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by nothing but a few cows, and no one else was visiting this campsite. The woman from the first campsite gave us some helpful tips for our journey, including never staying alone at a campsite, especially not in the middle of nowhere.
As a result, slightly annoyed, we decided to find a new campsite.
And just like yesterday, it worked out after the third attempt. We are standing with our camper on a campsite on a farm with other campers and feel definitely more comfortable and safer. 😊 For dinner, we cooked potatoes with meat and tzatziki.
Now we are in bed, chatting a bit.
Good night and greetings from Coramba, Australia! 😇
