Rakabudiswa: 12.05.2022
12.5.2022 By train it takes about 2 hours from Bordeaux to Biarritz. The train is only moderately occupied, most people get off in Bordeaux. You can see that Biarritz is an old seaside resort, with many older, noble and large hotels. The Hotel du Palais is one of the most expensive hotels and will reopen in June after renovation. The beach is currently not very crowded, maybe because of the temperature or the waves, I don't know, but you can see a few surfers standing on their boards for a few seconds. The market hall had already closed when I discovered it near the hotel.
The next morning I do some shopping for snacks and take a short visit to the market hall. Now I start cycling, at the beginning there are many campsites along the route. Later the path leads through endless pine forests, all on paved paths. Once a bridge is being renovated, luckily only a small detour is necessary this time. The path is close to the sea (about 1km), but there are very few ways to get there. In case of a breakdown, one would have to be prepared for a longer walk, but luckily there are other cyclists coming by from time to time. The tour ends today in Saint Julien en Born.
