Tag 5.6: Falmouth - Trewithian

Rakabudiswa: 05.09.2023

Today there was sunshine again - plus wind! This was clearly noticeable and made our two ferry crossings over the River Fal and Porth Creek a little more exciting.

St Mawes was very pretty with its white cottages and fort. In Place there was actually only a manor house, which gives the place its name, as well as the church and cemetery of St Anthony's.

Afterwards we walked on the headland to St Anthony's lighthouse. Soooo beautiful, wonderful views of St Mawes, Falmouth and the coast in front of Falmouth, which we had hiked along the previous days. Shortly before the lighthouse there was a wonderful beach, Molunan Beach, to admire...

And again the exciting question: what happens “around the corner”? It took a while to see the headlands of Nare Head and Dodman Point. We will be there tomorrow and the day after...

Passing two more beaches, we came to the next town, Portscatho. We had dinner there as there was nothing close to our accommodation.

We then had to walk for another hour, so it was quite dark by the time we arrived at our B&B in Trewithian.

A great, varied day... 😎
