We had the great pleasure of being able to help out on a farm for 14 days...
After a punctured rear window, it was financially necessary (everything fits again), and emotionally too: staying in one place, hot showers, being cooked for work. Let's do it!
Did we just show up there or something?
We signed up at Workaway and contacted our great farmers! The advantage: Workaway works worldwide.
What did we accomplish?
Building a dam for the pond (shoveling and stacking sandbags), driving cows to the pasture, painting windows, completely cleaning and organizing the kitchen (!), installing a new chimney pipe and spark protection plate, stripping and repainting cabinets, physiotherapy :) ....
What was particularly beautiful?
The kindness of the hosts, two real characters! The community with the other Workawayers. The incredibly good food! Christmas. Every day.
Stuffed roast, lamb, roast beef, oven-roasted vegetables, coleslaw, cakes and muffins (3 different ones to choose from every day), real bread, homemade ice cream... paradise!!!
We continued our journey with lots of warmth, plenty of provisions, and so many enriching experiences. A true little home for the two weeks!
