Why do we have international health insurance if we don't use it. So this time we are testing a Singaporean hospital :) Nora has been coughing heavily for a while now, and now she also has stomach pain. I thought, before we travel to one of the islands again, where the medical care is a bit more limited than in the city, let's get this checked out here.
And this hospital also seemed to be ahead of the Germans in many ways, at least when it comes to organization. The lady at the reception made an appointment for us with the pediatrician right away, and 20 minutes later we were already sitting in the examination room. The doctor was calm and patient, but Nora made it anything but easy for him. She didn't even think for a moment about letting him examine her. With kicks, punches, and loud protests, she kept him away from her. In the end, he somehow managed to listen to her chest and once again diagnosed bronchitis. He attributed the accompanying stomach pain to the changed environment, the new food, and the different climate. In any case, we got a whole load of medications, again directly in the waiting room, with detailed oral explanations of each item and stickers on each bottle with dosage instructions. Respect. But the real medicine came afterwards when we went shopping. While strolling through the children's department of H&M, both the cough and the stomach pain disappeared as if by magic, and the sound of children's laughter returned :-))) Nora was running excitedly through the store and picking out one dress after another that she wanted to try on. And they all had tulle or glitter or Anna & Elsa motifs :-) And there were sooo many of them!! The pictures show only a small selection. It felt like we spent a whole hour in the fitting room!
By the way, the entrance to the shopping mall was directly on the basement floor of the hospital, we didn't even have to leave the building. When we stepped out onto the street afterwards, we realized that we were right on Orchard Road, Singapore's most upscale shopping street. Gucci, Cartier, Louis Vuitton, and all the others were in sight. And there we stood, with our H&M bag and flip flops :) And it was pouring rain. When we passed by a luxury "drugstore", Nora said "Look, here's a DM". Wonderful :-))
After 6 hours in the hustle and bustle of the city, we have now retreated to the hotel for a break. Let's see if we can go out again soon. Nora wants to see yesterday's light show again.
Oh, by the way, we also extended our stay at the hotel for another 2 days. So we will stay in Singapore until Saturday for now. On the one hand, because we like it here and there is so much to discover, but also to see if the medication helps and if there is any improvement in sight.
