6. Chapter Glass House Mountains & Noosa

Rakabudiswa: 10.11.2019

We went hiking in the Glass House Mountains for three hours each day for two days. First, we hiked the Tibrogargan Trail and on the second day we 'conquered' the 253 m high Mount Ngungun. In the end, just when we were disappointed that we hadn't seen any animals, a large monitor lizard suddenly ran through the bushes and climbed up a tree. So we could check that off our list too.

After the Glass House Mountains, we had two weeks to bridge until Dominik and Timo would arrive, and we spent the time in the middle of nature at Obi Obi Creek. Just letting our souls dangle and spending the whole day swimming, hiking, and playing. Luckily, Louis can separate his private life from his, rather unsuccessful, card player career, so we still spend harmonious days together.

However, after a week, we were drawn back into civilization and our one-week stay in Noosa began. We stayed at a beautiful campsite right on the Noosa River.

You can see the devastating bushfires in the background.

The highlight of Noosa is definitely the National Park, which offers some beautiful hiking trails, beaches, and viewpoints. If you're lucky, you can observe koalas, dolphins, turtles, and a variety of birds in the natural environment of the National Park. Of course, we were lucky!

We also took a trip to the Great Sandy National Park and Rainbow Beach. We still don't know why the beach is called Rainbow Beach, as the only rainbow-colored thing in the area is a staircase leading to the beach. Nevertheless, the beach was very beautiful.

Last Saturday, I finally went on my long-awaited first fishing trip. We started at 6:30 am on the Pacific Ocean in beautiful weather. In my opinion, the pure fishing time could have been much longer, as a lot of time was needed for changing fishing spots and even filleting was taken into account. Nevertheless, it was a nice day and we also made sure to have a good meal!

DOMINIK AND TIMO FINALLY ARRIVED IN NOOSA!

Tomorrow we are heading to Fraser Island. We will report on our time together when it is already over. (around 22.11.2019)

Until then.
