What a fantastic morning. After a good night's sleep, we woke up at 6:00 a.m!! and enjoyed the sunrise. A little girl ran up to us, speaking 3 languages at the age of 5, chapeau. She told us about her dragon, whom she had just fed by the lake. That was very sweeeeet. Btw: Initially, not a single cloud at the volcano, clear view, coffee, silence, and nature....
At 8:45 a.m, we set off to Rio Celeste, one of the famous national parks in CR. Our navigation system must have been drinking yesterday, as it knew 'Brother, trust me' shortcuts. The relaxing 21 KM had more potholes than road. After driving a total of 36 KM in a quick 2 hours, we finally arrived at the park.
Suddenly, it started raining heavily in the parking lot. What luck. After changing our flip-flops back to shoes on the back seat, adjusting the rain poncho, we walked to the entrance. Maybe it was due to Lina's individual water exchange right at the entrance, but the rain stopped, and the sun shone in its full glory. So, off with the rain poncho and off we go. Unfortunately, we 'only' saw snakes, lizards, and monkeys, still no sloths... Shame.
The blue water occurs naturally and has something to do with the volcano and the meeting of two waters. You can read the rest on Wikipedia, I would have just done the Guttenberg here.
From the parking lot, we drove straight to Monteverde. 110 KM in 2:20h according to the navigation. Either the navigation is broken or it's driven like in German big cities. But indeed, we were speedy. Upon arrival in Monteverde, we went straight to the accommodation. Incredible... View, landscape, silence, and the size of the place. A dream...
Since we are always up very early here, we won't be 'waiting' for my birthday. We'll have a few glasses of wine and a cocktail, then off to bed (I'm getting old! The quarter-life crisis will soon kick in). We'll party later on the trip, then there will be funny stories again. Until then, you'll have to put up with these lengthy, meaningless texts 😄😄 yippie yei yeah, pig cheek
Enjoy the pictures, more pictures and videos will of course be shared personally
Until then
