Day 4 - Composing in Trelleborg

Lolomiina: 15.06.2019

Our day started at 7 o'clock in the morning. Adam didn't want to sleep anymore, he wanted to taste new experiences, discover the world. We had breakfast, then Ben built a tower and we set off for Sassnitz to catch the ferry. The weather was sunny with a few clouds.

We quickly found the terminal, so we had time to shop in the neighboring town of Binz and stock up on supplies.

Then we had lunch and could board the ferry at 1 o'clock.

We managed to get on the ferry. It turned out to be a very good decision to book a cabin so the boys could take a nap and then play and climb. Although at first Ben protested a lot, he fell asleep within a minute👍

We could see many similar families on board like us with two small children, struggling in the corridors, trying to put their kids to sleep. I don't think any child willingly admits that a 4-hour boring ferry ride at noon is fun.

After the boys woke up, we looked around the ship. We also went to the outer deck, although the wind almost blew us into the sea. It would have been a shame... so we went back to the dining deck. There were mainly Swedes there who accepted the journey because of the alcohol. Everyone bought a lot of beer (well, a bit of an exaggeration - so about 15-20 cardboard boxes) in 24-pack. We know that alcohol is expensive in Sweden, but it was funny to see it. The store on board was not cheap, unlike the one in the harbor. It was also funny to watch people there - we observed two types: families like us and others who carried as much beer as their hernia allowed. In the store, we bought 3 bars of Marabou chocolate because besides that, there was only alcohol available. And it was really cheap - duty-free territory.

We headed from Trelleborg towards Ystad, where we found a campsite. Our navigator fooled us a bit, as it took us on a long detour on highways instead of directly to Ystad. It was strange that it took us towards Malmö the whole time, even though Ystad is in a completely different direction. The iPhone navigator also suggested the same route - interesting, because the route through the coastal villages would have been much shorter.

On the way, we washed the motorhome for free because there was a heavy rain shower just a few kilometers before Ystad and the wipers had a hard time keeping up. The Swedes really don't mention that these Germans come with their dirty motorhomes😂

Another good decision was to re-seat our little navigator to face forward again - after he completed his penalty. He was very good at looking around and always had something to add to the journey😍

We quickly checked into the campsite. We had to hurry because it was already dinnertime.

After dinner, we explored the campground, where our little adventurers were welcomed by many puddles due to the heavy rain.

Unfortunately, the campsite we diligently researched in advance is located next to a very busy road and it's very noisy. But the boys don't mind😃
