Today we have to get up early because we are going to the Great Barrier Reef! Unfortunately, the night was not only short but also more exhausting than relaxing due to a pretty terrible neighborhood... the journey to the Great Barrier Reef was also very bumpy and stormy, and we both felt pretty uncomfortable. Thankfully, once we arrived at the first snorkeling spot (Moore Reef), we had to recover first ;-) We could see some things in the water, but it was nothing compared to the second spot, which more than made up for all the previous hardships - Milln Reef was huge, with beautiful corals and a huge number of big and small fish! Wow - we are amazed and enjoying this dreamlike underwater world for two hours (which you have to imagine since we don't have a Go Pro). We can definitely recommend today's tour - conducted by 'Indigenous Australians', locals who know the area very well. In addition, during the journey, we got interesting insights into their culture, such as making fire or fishing or playing the didgeridoo (see photo). In the afternoon, exhausted but happy, we return to Cairns. We will continue our journey with the camper to Port Douglas, where we will spend the night, because we want to explore the Daintree NP tomorrow!
