Every few years we are drawn to Canada: endless open spaces, a feeling of freedom, and spectacular landscapes are one reason, another is our 'almost family': Karen with children, grandchildren, and now first great-grandchild. Our friendship began in March 1990 on the ICE train from Hannover to Erfurt. So this time the flight goes first to Edmonton.
With Icelandair we fly over Greenland after a short stopover in Reykjavík. The view is fantastic!
The 8 hours time difference is luckily not a problem for any of us, so the visit to Sherwoodpark Alliance Church the next morning becomes an experience: a church service with guitar, drums, and singing. The modern building actually resembles a concert hall, there is a cafeteria and in the foyer people meet for Sunday chat.
Afterwards we visit Brenda in her farmhouse, our grandson meets Karen's great-granddaughter at Kelsy's, and dinner is cooked for us at Betsy's beautifully located house.
