After arriving in Kuala Lumpur, Kat, Fletcher, and I had to organize a bus transfer to the city because the airport is about 70 km away. However, the two of them were staying in a hostel in a completely different location, so we exchanged contacts and planned to meet the next day. When I arrived at the hostel, I immediately met two guys from Germany and decided to join them for dinner. Afterward, they went for drinks while I made my way back to the hostel. I froze during the night because the air conditioning was set too cold. I don't understand how people can find it comfortable when it's so extremely chilly. The next day, I spent time with the two guys I met the previous evening. We went to the Batu Caves and coincidentally ran into Kat and Fletcher on the train, so we explored the caves together. It was somewhat impressive, but I've seen so much already that I couldn't fully appreciate it. There were many monkeys there, searching for food. We took the train back and I really wanted to visit the Eco Park, so Timo and Aike decided to join me. I'm so glad I found this oasis in the middle of the city because I thought it was wonderful. Since I had made plans to meet Kat at a sky bar at 7 PM, we had to make our way back to the hostel. After a quick shower, we headed out again. The other two also came along and we had a great evening at the sky bar with an indescribable view of Kuala Lumpur. Afterwards, we went for more food and drinks and then I made my way back. This was supposed to be my last night here because the next morning, we were heading to the Cameron Highlands.
Compared to the other cities I've seen in Southeast Asia, it was incredibly nice to be in a relatively clean and organized city, and I enjoyed experiencing a bit of Western flair again.
