August and the start of the new semester are approaching. This gives me the opportunity to look back on the admittedly quiet July.
After returning from our week on the ship, all of my roommates were already on vacation in their home countries, except for one. The last one also said goodbye in the first week of July, so the apartment was half deserted under my supervision.
Along with July came the first "real" warm periods with temperatures up to 31°C for several days. Even though I had gotten used to the cold, these temperatures still felt like 40°C in Germany. Sweaty business. The only way to cope with it is to make good use of free time. Since July is generally used by almost everyone for vacation, there are no major tasks to be done for my master's thesis. So, it was a good opportunity to enjoy the sunshine and spend more time in the city. Despite the past six months, the time I had spent downtown was quite limited, and I wanted to make up for that now.
