Today I met up with Craig and Anita at around 9:00 am. We took a shuttle bus that took us to the cruise terminal. From there we walked towards the city. Our destination was the bus station. We took the tram for the last part of the way.
We had to be very patient at the bus station because there was only one ticket counter open where we could buy tickets. However, we discovered that there we could buy day tickets for the entire bus and tram network for just €12.00 each.
With our day tickets, we boarded a bus that took us about two hours to Los Cristianos. The Viking ship was already waiting there, on which we had booked a three-hour whale and dolphin watching tour.
We were given a warm welcome and after a short briefing the beer started to flow. We had free drinks and took advantage of it. We actually spotted a whole bunch of pilot whales, tried on Viking helmets and watched the mock battles of the wild Vikings.
Then we dropped anchor and had the opportunity to swim in the sea. I was prepared and jumped overboard. I felt very comfortable in the water, but unfortunately the whales did not want to keep us company.
Back on board, the brave swimmers were honored with face painting. Afterwards, they returned to the harbor.
Since we were hungry by now, we ate at a good beach restaurant. I decided on "baby ribs".
On the way to the bus station we unexpectedly encountered "King Kong". We managed to escape unharmed. The bus took us back to Santa Cruz. We then made our way to the ship by tram and on foot.
