After we had all the tickets together, we wanted to head towards the hotel. The woman in the office recommended a taxi, which wouldn't have been more expensive than the complicated route, but we wanted to continue the adventure. At the train station, we received a small plan on how the trains and so on work, and it also marked the boat taxis. So we went back into the metro and to the pier. From there, we took a boat and went through several stations towards Khao San Road, a famous party street near our hotel. Everyone here knows Khao San Road, so there was also a pier nearby. By this time, we were already very tired and could hardly keep our eyes open while sitting. Near our hotel, we took a break so we wouldn't go to sleep with a growling stomach. Finally, 'morning glory' again, my beloved water spinach... But I had never eaten such bad water spinach before. Mist!
After an almost endless search for the hotel, they initially couldn't find our reservation, but after a bit of back and forth, we finally got our room at 1 PM. Quick shower, rinse our clothes in water, and then we slept for 4 hours. It felt good. From there, we went to the rooftop pool and relaxed a bit.
But then off to the colorful hustle and bustle. Looking at shops, people, eating and drinking cocktails, and ending the evening comfortably. (We also briefly went to the famous Khao San Road, but there were only drunk 'teenagers' and it was loud and annoying, not at all what we wanted for the evening).
It is certainly worth mentioning that we also had a traditional Thai massage and it really worked me over. There's no other way to describe it. We were not only massaged while lying down, but also bent, stretched, and squashed while sitting. I had the entire Thai lady kneeling on my butt and later her feet in my back while she bent my arms backwards. And I cracked and crunched like a champion. But it felt good. Since then, I'm as flexible as a pretzel and feel wonderful. Even today, on the second day, I feel wonderfully mobile. But tonight there will be a foot massage. Too much back is certainly not good...
