Fortunately, the baby woke us up early in the morning at 6 o'clock. Normally, I wouldn't be too thrilled about that, but when we went on deck around 7 o'clock, we were greeted by a dreamlike landscape like I have never seen before in my life. A wide valley, a fjord. However, there was fog over the water, making it seem like the ship was floating in the clouds.
After a hearty breakfast on the sundeck, we decided to go on a hike to the nearest mountain. Here in Saguenay is the end of the line, only wilderness afterwards - a few Indian villages, and then nothing, then Eskimos and the Arctic.
Since it was quite humid and hot (33°C in the shade!), Iris and Sophia unfortunately decided to stay in the village or on the ship.
The rest of us set off and were richly rewarded. The trail was challenging and hot, but there were occasional shades and incredible views of the fjord. So much nature! Wonderful.
