We start heading south after breakfast because we want to play golf on a golf course in the vineyards. Unfortunately, there is a tournament there today, so we have no chance to play.
But the boss of the golf club gives us some tips on what else we can do in the area, so we drive to Rogla.
The landscape since Maribor is rather barren and poor.
Rogla is a district of the municipality of Zreče in the Slovenian Štajerska region. The place, located on a plateau of the Pohorje, was one of 57 uninhabited settlements in Slovenia in 2020 and is mainly known for its winter sports area. The name Rogla derives from the eponymous mountain, which is 1517 m high.
It is much cooler here than in the valley, but we decide to continue our way south today and end up in Celje at a free camper parking directly next to a park, 5 minutes from the town. Celje is said to be the third or fourth largest city in Slovenia... the information varies.
But it is pretty deserted here. Hardly any shops in the center are open and it seems that the effects of Corona are extremely noticeable here.
There's not much to do here, but in the evening there's a concert by the river that we're going to watch before going to bed.
