Since we camped right in front of the Babinda Boulders, all we had to do in the morning was walk down. A beautiful sight and refreshing cold. Only the many horseflies that constantly have to sting you diminished the joy. Then on to the Devil's Pool viewpoint.
Afterwards we went to Josephine Falls. We were even able to slide there. At noon we went to Mission Beach, where we had lunch and discussed the further plan for the days. In the evening, we couldn't enjoy our chicken with guacamole undisturbed again, this time the mosquitoes were to blame.
The next day, the sun woke me up at 5:30 am. I bought a pineapple for $2 at a self-service stand at the campground. Then we went to Attie Creek. Nobody was there. When we finally arrived, we understood why. The waterfall wasn't flowing at all, the dry period had left its mark. A short dip in the water and then on to Wallaman Falls.
Since we still had a bit of driving to do in the evening, we didn't want to linger here for too long. However, out of curiosity, we went down and even swam behind the waterfall. With a delay, we continued to refuel in the city of Ayr, where there was a Shell gas station. The liter of gasoline cost only $1.259 (€0.79). We finally arrived at the campground at 9 pm and were very relieved.
