After a great day yesterday, today it's time to say goodbye. The night was tough, as my body thanked me for all the sports with a few muscle aches. My inner knee tendons and muscles felt as heavy as concrete, making it a real challenge to turn in bed.
The plane leaves at 18:25 - oh no, just received the message that it's at 18:45. We have to check out of the room by 13:00 at the latest, and the shuttle will pick us up at 15:25.
We decide to spend 13:00-15:15 in Downtown Delta and see if we can do some shopping, like a suitcase lock (Schahaatz lost his on the way here) and a luggage strap, and maybe some souvenirs.
So, packing,
checking out, storing the luggage, and off to our beloved Metro station, which is an 8-minute walk away.
The suitcase lock and strap were bought relatively quickly, and we bought the last souvenirs at the airport, as they were cheaper there than in the city. So we wandered around Vancouver a bit aimlessly, decided against a farewell beer,
but opted for a little snack in the form of summer rolls instead.
Then the time was up.
We walked back to the hotel for the last time, 8 minutes away. That's it. Almost 4 weeks of vacation gone - it went by so quickly.
The flight was almost on time
and uneventful, although the 9.5 hours felt extremely long to me. Night flights are very exhausting for me because I can't sleep much on the plane, unlike Schahaatz, who slept most of the flight. This time, too, our plan did not work out to take the two outer seats in a row of three and hope that no one would sit in the middle. It didn't work on the outbound flight either. There are just too many people traveling alone.
So dear readers, at this point a heartfelt thank you for your loyalty, likes, and comments. We hope we could take you along a bit and that you enjoyed it just as much as last time. Unfortunately, it's back to work for us retirees now. Please stay healthy and until next time when it's
Schahaatz and I are off.
PS: There will be a summary of the trip in the coming days.
