I wake up early, back in the saddle before 08:00. Unterwössen - Marquartstein - Bernau - Aschau - Frasdorf - Achenmühle, the highway exits along the A8, the routes of my childhood.
Long lunch break in Bad Feilnbach, too long. The Norwegian weather forecast from yr is rarely wrong, and it predicts scary thunderstorms with heavy rain for the late afternoon. So far, it hasn't rained on my bike tours, neither in Bella Italia nor (by car) on Iceland, so it's about time.
I follow the signs of the Königssee-Bodensee cycle path. Komoot is overwhelmed with it and wants me to turn back for 2 hours. Well, I cycle past huge farms, cowsheds with sliding roofs and fans, small chapels, and various inns. I escape the first heavy rain in Edeka in Fischbachau, luckily I already set up my tent for the second one. In between, there's what they call "Salzburger Schnürl-Regen"...
I haven't booked anything in advance, hoping that "a 1-person tent always works" also applies to this campground at Lake Schliersee. Yes, it does, there's still room on the tent meadow. I get myself a beer at the kiosk, I'm happy that everything has gone well for the most part, I enjoy the sound of the rain on the tent and let the neighboring toddlers cry - fortunately, they're not mine.
