Today we first went to Palm Island, an artificially created island in the shape of a palm tree in the Persian Gulf off the coast of Dubai. There are a total of three of these Palm Islands, but construction of the second and third island has stalled since the economic crisis.
Because we had to change at Madinat Jumeirah, we took the opportunity to visit the connected souk. Actually, we didn't want to buy anything because our journey continues, but then we couldn't pass by a very cute camel that will now accompany us on our further journey.
We then continued to Palm Island, where many hotels and private residences are located. The most famous is certainly the 'Atlantis The Palm', which not only houses an aquarium but also a large water park with dolphins.
To see Palm Island from the water as well, we took a boat ride around the western half.
The plots of land on the coast are so expensive that when you buy a house, you not only get a bottle of champagne or a bouquet of flowers, but also a car... Depending on the size of the house, you can get a mini or a Lamborghini.
After thoroughly exploring Dubai Mall, today we visited 'Mall of the Emirates'.
There is not only a huge amusement park with bumper cars, arcade games, carousel, trampoline landscape and video games, but also 'Dubai Ski'. This is a large hall where you can go skiing and engage in other winter sports in the desert at -2°C.
To conclude the day and our stay in Dubai, we took an evening lights tour.
On the way back to the hotel, we watched the 'Dubai Fountains' water show for the third time, which impressed us again with a different choreography and matching music.
