We're going on an adventure with the caravan. It's Thursday evening, December 12th, and it's already 22:00 because we were still busy with our local advent calendar. But Zappa can drive for another two hours, then we'll be in Knüllwald and have the opportunity to avoid the Frankfurt weekend and after-work traffic in the early morning.
We'll make it to - of course - Northeim. Full closure due to a nighttime construction site and everyone has to get off the highway. So we follow the caravan of trucks and patiently wait at roundabouts and traffic lights. After about an hour, we made it, just before Göttingen we're back on the road and that's when Zappa raises the question of where his phone could be. I try calling: currently not available, but will be notified by SMS. Hmmm, sounds like it's at home... Another call brings the same result and after a short stop and rummaging in the rig, we are certain that the phone is still at home.
What now? Zappa will need the device on the road, so we turn back!
By midnight, we're back home and quickly the culprit for the dilemma is identified: I emptied the mailbox last minute and put the chimney sweep's bill visibly on the desk, so that we can pay it soon after our return. Unfortunately, the phone disappeared underneath it and was forgotten. I confess.
But getting the bedding and all the stuff back out of the château is not an option. That's why we drive on to Langelsheim to spend the night there and admire frozen puddles the next morning.
