I was woken up by the howler monkeys here on Friday morning. I also encountered them on the way to school 🐒. To start off the weekend, we had to have a little party in the evening 🍻.
Originally, we planned to go on a trip to Rio Celeste on Saturday. It's a beautiful waterfall in the middle of the Tenorio Volcano National Park. Unfortunately, it only remained 'originally' because Costa Rican spontaneity got in the way...
Well, then we decided to go on a boat tour to see dolphins and snorkel 🐬. Unfortunately, this didn't go exactly as we had imagined, as the first sentence from our tour guide was: 'The probability to see dolphins today is really small.' Bravo. We were also a bit disappointed with the snorkeling, we only saw a couple of different fish and a starfish - that was it. But the sunset on the sea surprised us and we liked it very much 🌅
On Sunday, we relaxed on the beach and enjoyed our day off in the sun, sipping on a coconut 🥥. Our host parents invited me and my roommate to have dinner with their relatives and friends. Of course, we Swiss were punctual, but the rest showed up after about one and a half hours. The shared meal was a great experience, despite the language barriers, and it was a great honor for me to be a part of it ☺️.
Today was back to school. I have to say, the difference between last week and today's class is enormous. It's much more intense - but doable 📚.
In the afternoon, we decided to take a surfing lesson. It was great, but not easy and tiring at the same time. After a few tries, I managed to stand on the board without falling off 🌊. Yes! Just cool.
See you soon
