The day started with sunshine and blue sky, we had breakfast on our camping chairs with our self-cooked oats with bananas and apples and enjoyed the sun, which was really warm. 🌞
After the first meal of the day, we put on our new hiking shoes and started walking. We started with a one-hour walk, which was really nice. We walked through flocks of sheep and across meadows and had a beautiful view of the sea.⛰️🗻
After the hike, we thought we could do another hike to break in our shoes.
However, this turned out to be not such a good idea, the trail was supposed to take 4 hours but it took us about 6 hours.. We got off the trail about 4 times and had to walk back to stay on the hiking trail. We were both already tired because we were only walking uphill and both had giant blisters on our feet, and Laura had hip problems. The view was beautiful, but at some point we just wanted to go downhill, we paid less and less attention to the signs and ended up on a road that unfortunately led in the opposite direction...
So we had no choice but to walk across a cow pasture and look for the right path, we climbed over a barbed wire fence, I cut my hands, but I didn't really care anymore and we actually found the actual trail.🐮
However, it was so muddy that I fell on my back, completely at the end of my nerves and with the knowledge in my head that it would soon be dark, which made me panic a bit, I didn't know whether to laugh or cry. So I did both at the same time and we kept walking and actually arrived before sunset and got ourselves a pack of cookies as a reward.🍪
We had some difficulties throughout the day, but in the end, it was quite nice and we were proud of ourselves for making it.💪
