After waking up in the overgrown parking lot, I explored the area a bit. Here you could clearly see what I described yesterday regarding the open-cast mining lakes. In addition to the parking lot, there were supposed to be a water slide park, two campsites, and a beach area. Construction was also underway here, only to be left to overgrowth later on. There were only a few construction barges on the lake, probably working on securing the embankment so that the lake can be used eventually.
After that, I continued on to Bautzen. The old town is very beautiful and transports you back to the Middle Ages at times. In the afternoon, I made my way to my sleeping spot, as I am a guest at an alpaca farm. My car is parked on an orchard here. It is very peaceful, and I had the pleasure of having my first proper shower so far. Even though it was ice cold, it felt like being in a spa. Washing oneself with a water canister isn't really ideal in the long run. After that, I improvised and put together a tortellini salad in freestyle format for the day.
I then spent the evening cozily with a bottle of wine. I haven't heard of Schwarzriesling before, but it tastes very delicious and maybe a bit too drinkable. ;) I also had a late-night BBQ with a beef skewer and 2 sausages.
