The approach

No idea what I packed, but the bike is heavy, way too heavy. Since I'm starting a day earlier than planned, I have time to choose a longer but interesting route. Through South Tyrol, past Innichen, Bruneck, Brixen and Bolzano, towards the western shore of Lake Garda - nice and curvy with lots of tunnels and only onto the highway near Milan for the final stretch. Arrived well in Genoa, more precisely in Varazze, a few kilometers to the west, at a campsite. It doesn't take long and the first oopsie happens. When reversing between the motorhomes, the high weight relentlessly takes its toll and the Triumph Tiger gently falls asleep with a crunching sound. Fortunately, thanks to the side cases, it doesn't completely hit the ground and thanks to another camper, it's quickly back up.

I should have set up the tent at home for a trial, so the air mattress remains unblown today,... but anyway, after today's ride of almost 790km I'm done, the Pigato - a local white wine - will surely ensure enough sleep 😎
