Drake Bay is really a small village. People are hardly out and about here, and there are hardly any bars here. 2 or 3 restaurants at best. If you're looking for a party, you're definitely in the wrong place here :) We stayed at Hostel Hakuna Matata where we also booked our tour to Corcovado National Park. There are just as few travel agencies here where you can make big comparisons :D
In the morning at 6 o'clock we went down to the beach and took the boat to the national park. We got a small lunch package as a strengthening. We felt like children again, nice with an apple for the conscience, cookies, a multivitamin juice and a burrito :)
Our guide, whose name I unfortunately forgot (Ronnie or Donnie, I believe), was a really great guy. He told us a lot, not just about the animals, but also about the individual plants. I think he didn't find birds that exciting. Sometimes he saw one and shortly afterwards he said 'Oh, it unfortunately flew away'. Actually not, but okay :D
We saw quite a few little birds, butterflies, monkeys, etc. And the highlight, especially for Steffi, were the tapirs. She loves these creatures :D But you have to admit, they're cute when they're standing in front of you like that.
Of all the national parks, this one has been my favorite so far, also because you have the greatest chances of seeing animals here.
After the park, we went to the beach again to tan :D
Next stop, Jaco
