Day 15 - Seaplane Tour over SF

Whakaputaina: 15.09.2024

Today we drove over the bridge to Sausalito, as I had booked a flight over the Bay and the city. This flight was conducted with a seaplane, something I had never done before 😍.

We arrived a bit too early in Sausalito and first went into a shop where Kathi coincidentally found a suitable sweater 👚. Afterwards, we treated ourselves to a coffee ☕️ to pass the time before heading to the airport ✈️🚤.

Unfortunately, Kathi didn’t want to fly. There was room in the plane for the pilot and five more passengers. There was also a couple from Krefeld on board, with whom we had a good conversation before the flight.

The flight ✈️ over the city and the bay was spectacular and lasted not just 30 minutes as announced, but almost a full hour. The Golden Gate Bridge 🌉 was not completely visible, but at least partially clear. Since yesterday, the bay has been mostly foggy. Nevertheless, the flight was fantastic. The plane first flew across the entire bay to Oakland and then over the city, San Francisco, and over both bridges 🌉.

After we arrived back at the airport and landed on the water, we took some photos and exchanged pictures with the couple from Krefeld.

As we were heading back towards the city, we took Tim and Kara along with us. They were very happy about that.

We then went to an Italian restaurant near Fisherman's Wharf and enjoyed delicious pasta. We were both quite hungry.

I had arranged to meet with a colleague who happened to be in San Francisco at the same time. We then met Stephan nearby. We chatted for a bit and watched the sea lions at Pier 39. It was nice to talk about work again 😂.

I sent the picture of the two of us to our boss later. I think she found it pretty great that we forwarded that to her.

Late in the evening, a ghost wandered into my room. I’m not sure where it 👻 came from, but it was quite active in my room 😂😂
