Whakaputaina: 22.05.2019
Today was only a small stage planned: from Selcuk to Bodrum. Here I have inserted a map with the previous route in Turkey.
Here is an old photo from the 19th century. Currently, the castle is being restored and is surrounded by scaffolding and cranes. So not very photogenic.
Here is Bodrum today. Conclusion: A lot has happened within 150 years! 😜
So let's go to the museum and castle.
You really feel like you're in the series "Game of Thrones" here!
Everything lovingly restored. And in the immediate vicinity: the turquoise sea!
Have you ever seen something like this?
A white peacock! Now I'm really in a fantasy series!
Simone on a discovery tour!
A Byzantine wreck was found near Bodrum by a sponge diver. The archaeological survey and recovery of the wreck took a whopping 3533 dives. Proof can be seen above.
After the museum, I went to the adjacent marina.
Here's the harbor again with the castle in the background.
Bodrum itself is very touristy. You can shop here endlessly...
And this is not the only shopping street...
But there are also picturesque places:
In the alley above there are very cute restaurants that I also visited in the evening. Here you can eat delicious homemade "meze" (appetizers)! And have a nice conversation with locals...
In the harbor, there are still some curiosities to discover. "Captain Jack Sparrow" sends his greetings. The Turks come up with a lot to lure tourists onto their ships. 😊
A few evening impressions...
Another eventful day comes to an end - goodnight!
