Guess who had the brilliant idea to drive from Spain to Granada in a camper van on a Sunday afternoon during the holidays and assume it would be easy peasy to find a parking spot.
That's right - us! After many sweaty moments, we ended up parking in a paid parking lot and luckily got one of the last spots.
After the excitement, we calmly explored the city and spent the evening watching the sunset above the Alhambra.
On Monday, at exactly 8:30 a.m., we stood in line at the entrance of the Alhambra like true Germans (Almans). Since there were no more tickets available online, we had to hope to get some in the morning. But the sunrise over Granada made up for it.
Fun fact: The Alhambra is one of the top 5 most visited tourist attractions in Europe and the most visited attraction in Spain.
A visit to the Alhambra and the city of Granada is definitely worth it.
Julian organized free tickets for us to visit the Nerja Caves, combined with a parking spot by the sea above the cliffs, it was a wonderful day.
The following days were more relaxed as I was feeling a bit under the weather.
Yesterday, we drove to Málaga, explored the city, and enjoyed Spanish food.
This morning, Julian flew back home and I am staying behind ;-) Let's see where I end up next week.
