After a long flight (11h), we arrived well in Johannesburg. Today we want to visit Oliver's old friend, Karl Hinteregger. So we quickly pick up the rental car and start driving. But we don't get far. After only 2 minutes, the police stop us 🙉. Allegedly, we overlooked a stop sign.... The police officer wants 1000 Rand (about €60). Oliver negotiates it down to 500 Rand. As we drive on, the police officers wave at us very friendly....
At Karl's place, we have a typical South African BRAAI (translated as barbecue). There are sausages from the Springbok and a huge steak with a salad topped with pumpkin seed oil.
Afterwards, we continue with Karl to Barberton, where he owns a farm with guest houses together with his family. We still meet Oliver's former boss and have a very enjoyable evening.
