Rain. The whole night. In the morning, just in time for the morning round, it stops raining. We both quickly slip into our clothes and take advantage of the dry phase for a brisk run up to Brotjacklriegel. Along the way, Petra does a few exercises so she can take a photo to send to her Sunday sports buddies. Unlike yesterday, the sun doesn't even try to fight against the clouds. When we reach the town sign on the way back, it starts pouring down like buckets and we arrive soaking wet in the apartment. As a reward, we have scrambled eggs (the loyal reader remembers that fried eggs are unfortunately not possible in the available pan). We leisurely dawdle around (on coffee trips, this is always called "free time") and in the afternoon, we set off to walk through some town. That way, if it starts pouring heavily again, we can quickly sit in a pub.
By four o'clock, we're so hungry that we're almost dying. We remember passing a pub earlier, where they had something with dumplings on the sign. So we reverse course and go back to the dumpling place. Full of expectation, we drive to the parking lot, only to find that they close on Sundays at 2pm. Next target, found via an app on the phone: a brewery restaurant. We like to eat there, we've had many good experiences. Wonderful, after a few kilometers, we reach it. But here, they have Saturdays and Sundays as days off. Well, different countries, different customs! Finally, we find a tavern in Grafenau where they at least serve us a snack, and it tastes excellent.
The weather stays dry, but really cold, and after a short round through the town, we make our way back home.
So, a quiet day of recuperation. Just managed to reach 10,000 steps. Tomorrow the sun will be shining and it will be lively again! For the second week, we've already booked some great things for Wednesday and Thursday, and we're looking forward to them!
