WHAT A DAY ✨🏔️
After a final breakfast in Tokyo, we took the bus to Mount Fuji — the Japanese call it Fujisan.
Mount Fuji is a volcano and, at 3,776 meters, the highest mountain in Japan. It has been considered sacred in this country for centuries.
For me it is simply the perfect mountain. It protrudes from the ground like a triangle, alone - with no other mountains in its immediate vicinity. And I really wanted to see him.
The problem: even in good weather, Mount Fuji is often not visible. Its peak is often above the clouds. But the same applies to the Golden Gate Bridge and we were lucky there so we pushed our luck again.
So we took the bus from Tokyo to Kawaguchiko. And he suddenly appeared on the highway. Its tip was completely covered in white and it beamed towards us. Mount Fuji. I immediately took pictures, thought to myself... if we never see him again, then at least we saw him from the bus.
But I was worried for nothing, Mount Fuji was shining at us all day long.
When we arrived in Kawaguchiko we went to the hotel to eat. This time we treated ourselves to Japanese fluffy pancakes - very tasty.
Well fortified, we then took a taxi to the Chureito Pagoda. We had to climb 400 steps and carry Kian sleeping in his buggy. But the picture that presented itself to us was definitely worth it.
I still get goosebumps — it was so magical. The pagoda, Mount Fuji, the setting sun. Three things that made the scene perfect for me.
Despite -4 degrees, I felt very warm - with joy. The moment was magical. And it still is when I scroll through the pictures. And I hope it stays that way forever. ✨✨✨
Ps: Our room has a Fuji view, even Kian is amazed. (See photos)
