On Monday, 06/05/2017, we drove to the amazing Hapuna Beach on the west side of the island. This beach has been named the most beautiful beach in the USA several times.
We expected clear water and a great sandy beach.
Unfortunately, the weather wasn't cooperating and it was quite windy, causing the sand to blow around and the waves in the water to churn up the sand. Despite this, it was still a great beach, although we have seen even better beaches on our trip.
We also tried Shaved Ice for the first time, which is a specialty in Hawaii. However, we would probably describe this ice as a 'flavored snowball'.
In the evening, thanks to Nadine's navigation skills, we spent 1.5 hours stuck in traffic trying to get to Kona, where we wanted to see a great Hula and Fire show. Well... at least Nadine realized a few kilometers before Kona that we had to turn back because the Hula Show was taking place just a few minutes from Hapuna Beach!! Oops!!
Despite the back and forth, we enjoyed the evening and the Hula Show.
